A huge announcement from our MinnesotaCountry.com band of the month Chris Brooks and the Silver City Boys – the talented group has a sixth member joining the band.
Nick Champeau is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who recently relocated back to Minneapolis after completing his master’s of music degree at the University of Southern California in studio/jazz guitar performance. While living in LA, Nick performed regularly at top clubs in town with an assortment of different groups including the indie-rock band, Armada, and the funk ensemble the Love Haters. He also recorded guitar for multiple professional projects, and taught both classes and private lessons at USC, in partial fulfillment of his teaching assistant position.
Along with playing keyboards, banjo, mandolin, and bass in addition to guitar, Nick is at home in a multitude of different genres, ranging from classical, jazz and Flamenco to rock, blues, country, and funk.
“Nick will be adding vocal harmony to the band as well,” Chris Brooks said yesterday on the band’s Facebook page. “The band will be phasing Nick into the show as he gets up to speed on the songs.”
