Sadly it looks like country music is getting ready to lose another great.

Via NashvilleGab:

A little more than a year after announcing to fans that he had been receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer, it looks like Country Music Hall of Famer Ray Price’s journey may be coming to an end.

Ray’s son, Clifton, posted an update to the singer’s Facebook on Saturday:

Dear Friends. My Dad is very sick. He is in the East Texas Medical Center At Tyler, Texas. He has been in intensive care. He was admitted on Monday. I got to visit for a brief moment on the 22 of November at the ranch. I was invited back by my Father the next day but the gate was locked. My Dad is in final stages of pancreatic cancer and the general opinion is that he will not be going home. When I saw him the cancer seemed to have taken his strength away. Its very sad that Cancer is going to take his life and that there is no cure.  God Bless everyone for their prayers. Clifton Ray Price (son)

Earlier this year, it was reported that Price’s cancer had gone into remission but that the singer had decided not to go through with any more surgeries that would force him into a nursing home.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Price, and his family.
