TeamShayneShayne Michael of The Rowdy Cowboy Show is not only a good friend of ours here at MinnesotaCountry.com, but a business associate as well.  In our eyes, he’s certainly one of us, and when one of us needs the support in unfortunate situations, we do what we can to give the most support we’re able.  As friends and fans of MinnesotaCountry.com we hope you’ll continue reading the story below.

The story:

After receiving the life changing news that he had testicular cancer, Shayne Michael and his family started the battle determined to kick the cancer’s butt. The surgery to remove the cancer was initially a success and blood tests and a CT scan showed he was in remission.

Two months later at his first follow up blood exam, the results revealed the cancer had come back for a second act. The doctors ordered a CT scan right away to determine the location of the active cancer cells. The scan results showed a mass in Shayne’s left lung. After an emergency biopsy it was confirmed that the mass did have active cancer cells.

The options were to perform surgery to remove the mass followed by a round of chemotherapy treatment or, several rounds of chemo. Ultimately Shayne’s Oncologist felt it would be better to stick to the chemo considering his situation.

Monday, April 20th Shayne began a rigorous, 3 cycle treatment plan. This process will take 9 weeks to complete. During this 9 week treatment plan, Shayne will of course be unable to work and will be out of commission in general.

The good news is that the oncologist is very hopeful this will be the knock out blow needed to end the fight with the cancer.

Shayne has a positive attitude and outlook on the situation, after all this fight is not only for him, but his wife, children, family, and friends.

We’re going to celebrate the gift of life, and help him and his family through this horrible stage of life together, and we hope you’ll help out as well!

In order to make this challenge easier for Shayne and his family, we ask that you send your thoughts and prayers their way.  With that said, the rest of the folks from The Rowdy Cowboy Show are planning a benefit for Shayne to help relieve some of the financial stress during these horrible times.Details about the benefit will be announced soon. In order to make the benefit a great success any donations would be extremely appreciated and of course very helpful. Donations can be monetary as well as donated items that can be used to auction off during the benefit. Gift cards, apparel, and anything else you think would be great to auction off would make for a great donation as well.

For details on where to send or give your donations for the auction, and for any other questions you may have, please contact Travis or Danie George via email at TeamShayneMichael@gmail.com at anytime.

For many of you reading this, we know you may live a ways away from the Twin Cities metro area which does make it tough to donate items for an auction.  With that said, there is also a safe and secure GoFundMe page setup for Shayne as well.  With this, no matter where you live, you can still make a monetary donation within just a few minutes online.  If you’re able to do so, please leave a note for Shayne on there and also include your location and that you heard about it on MinnesotaCountry.com!  We think it would be great to see fans of MinnesotaCountry.com from around the world show up on the list of contributors! Every little bit helps, so even if you were to donate $1 it is still much appreciated.

Visit the GoFundMe site setup for Shayne today by clicking HERE.

Again, we’d like to thank you all for reading this, and even if you’re unable to help with donations for either the auction or of monetary value we ask that you send your thoughts and prayers his way!

You can also help by sharing this post as well!  Social media is huge, and by you sharing, we can really get the word out in an extremely timely fashion!

Thanks again for your time, and anything you can do to help support Shayne and his family in this great time of need.

Sincerely,

Brandon G. Wallin
