Since we first heard Michigan based band Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys song “Standard American” we’ve covered the journey of not only the song but the band as they played for their first time right here in Minneapolis, MN at The Cabooze, and more. Now the brand new music video has arrived and we’re sure you’ll love it! If you’ve heard the song before and weren’t quite sure about it, this video will show you just how “Standard American” it is.
We first heard the tune when Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys manager had sent MinnesotaCountry.com owner Brandon G. Wallin a link to a YouTube video which was recorded with poor audio quality in a Michigan country radio station. Brandon was asked for his input and gave his honest answers. You can see exactly what he had to say here.
A few months after helping the band gain some added exposure here on MinnesotaCountry.com they released a lyric video which was great as well! Sure enough, it was determined to be their new single and with the support from loyal fans they took off running with song as a brand new single.
After keeping in touch with the band and their manager, we soon found out the new single had been added to Sirius XM’s The Highway for air-play worldwide. The only way the station would continue to keep the single playing is if the Sirius XM listeners enjoyed and requested it frequent enough. Well, fans and listeners of Sirius XM’s The Highway did just that! It wasn’t long before we found out “Standard American” was in the top 45 countdown! Then in the midst of all of this excitement the band played a show at the historic Minneapolis concert venue The Cabooze for a show which we at MinnesotaCountry.com were proud to present.
Now, after all of this taking place since mid January the band has just released the official music video we’ve been waiting for!
