Many of you reading this are most likely clueless as to whom Matt Rizor even is, which is perfectly okay because he is behind the scenes in the music business yet plays a major role in bringing some great shows not only to The Midwest market but all over the country as well.  The reason for this write-up is because Matt is a good friend of ours here at MinnesotaCountry.com and we’d like to help the best we can, and that would be reaching out to you and hoping you’ll spread the word!  See why he needs help, and who else we’ve seen showing their support for Matt below!

On Friday August 15th, Matt was walking home on West End Ave in Nashville, TN and was hit by a dark colored sedan driving east without their headlights on and DID NOT STOP!  (Police have yet to find the vehicle, nor the driver.)

He is currently in critical condition at Vanderbilt Hospital and is in a coma for the time being suffering severe brain and limb injuries.  They have been posting updates, and things have changed since he went into the hospital on the 15th.  See the updates and continue to stay updated by clicking here

Matt and his family need your help!  His recovery time could take anywhere from six months to a year at the least, and the medical bills alone will be overwhelming. He is currently without insurance until November till his new work policy kicks in.

Matt just recently got engaged to his girlfriend of 8 years, Michelle McGuire who recently graduated from Nursing school and is a server at local Nashville restaurant, Bricktops.

They’ve created an online setup for people who would like to give to do so safely, and have already passed $10,000 but as many of us know that number will only be a small portion of his medical bills.  If you’re able, and would like to give you can do so by clicking here.  The family, friends, and us at MinnesotaCountry.com appreciate it!

Some of the artists Matt works with have already taken to social media to spread the word about the “Go Fund Me” account that’s been setup to collect funds safely to help Matt and his family out.  See what Shenandoah said here, and the numerous posts Ramble Jam artists Blackjack Billy said here.

This post is not meant to get you to donate money, etc.  We’re just stepping up among others to support such a great friend, with a great family.

When he awakes, he will be shocked by all of the support he’s received, and we’re glad to have done what we could do here at MinnesotaCountry.com.

At this time, we continue to send our prayers for Matt as he continues his fight, and at the same time we would like to wish the Nashville area police the best in finding the driver who didn’t have the heart to stop after hitting an innocent man crossing the street that night.

To those who read all of this, we thank you very much, and hope you’ll share with your friends as well.

Use #RizeUpForRizor on your social media posts as well!
