When Jerrod Niemann became a Back Seat Buckers Celebrity Stock Contractor in January, he aptly named the bull he selected “High Noon” after his third major album, which was released in March of this year and became hugely successful, garnering the artist’s second No.1 hit single, “Drink To That All Night.”

High Noon has now lived up to the success of his namesake, winning the 2014 Back Seat Buckers grand prize and $100,000 in prize money at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Earlier this year, HighNoon also won $2,250 after placing 4th/5th in the Springfield Invitational. As Niemann announced earlier this year, he will be donating all the bull’s earnings to his nonprofit, Free the Music USA (FTMUSA), an organization dedicated to supporting music education collecting used instruments for children and teens in need, named for his 2012 album, Free The Music.

“I’m still smiling thinking about the amazing news,” says Niemann. “When teaming up with my friends at Back Seat Buckers to purchase a bull to compete in rodeos for charity, I was very excited. I was hoping we’d be able to get in there with High Noonand raise some funds for children and their opportunities to have music as a steady part of their lives [via FreeTheMusicUSA.org], but I didn’t realize we could be blessed enough to do so well. A huge thanks to Scott Accomazzo and everyone else at the Ace of Spades Ranch in Stepenville, Texas for their hard work with High Noon.”

Back Seat Buckers (BSB) is the turnkey bull ownership program created by PBR and ABBI. It allows anyone to become a stock contractor and provides complete care, housing and training for bulls during their first year of ABBI competition. Niemann joins an impressive line of past celebrity bull owners, including Jared Allen, John Elway, Boomer Esiason, Wayne Gretzky and Reggie Jackson.

Niemann also recently announced his headlining Get Your Buzz Back Tour, which kicked off in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Oct. 24. Donations to FTMUSA in the form of gently used instruments will be collected at each stop on the tour. His latest single, “Buzz Back Girl,” was just released to country radio and is currently top 40 and climbing the charts.
