Happy Valentine’s Day readers! Dropped the ball on ordering those roses?  Well you’re in luck because we’ve got the perfect gift for all music lovers.  Nestor AnDress released his new album Falling In Love today and we were able to chat with him earlier this week about the album, his musical influences, and his love of pizza! Nestor is a talented singer-songwriter from South-Texas whose smooth voice and passionate lyrics have us excited to hear more!

When I first heard his song, “Shoot Me Down” it gave me a Garth Brook’s “Rodeo” vibe who Nestor admits he is a fan of, but as for some of his other musical influences Nestor lists, “Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Randy Rogers and Josh Abbott Band” as artists that inspire the sound he is going for. When asked which artist he would most like to duet with, Nestor says, “Lee Ann Womack! She’s just incredible and her style of music would fit well with mine”.

As for his music, Nestor describes it as, “passionate” and hopes when people hear it, “they feel the emotions and how I was feeling when I wrote it. I hope they connect with it and can see the story I’m telling”. He wrote or co-wrote every song on the new album and says “I can’t pick a favorite, that’s like asking a parent to pick their favorite child”. Nestor describes the new album as “My new record is about falling in love and that’s the name of it. It’s not just about falling in love with an individual, but moments, a song, a memory, simply living and falling in love”. He began song writing, “when I was younger and would write poems” but he didn’t realize his passion for pursuing music as a career until later in life. “It was just something that felt right and I fell in love with,” Nestor says.

When Nestor isn’t on stage or writing music you can find him fishing. “I love fishing and watching movies, I don’t really watch T.V. but I love movies. Braveheart is my favorite”. He’s also a big fan of pizza and while he says it doesn’t matter what kind, one of his favorite pizza places is, “Peter Piper Pizza”. Nestor is also very close to his family. “Their my lifeline, especially my mom” which is evident in his sweet song “Momma”.

Aside from his album being released, 2016 is looking to be an exciting year for Nestor who says, “we’re looking to get out there more and sharing the music. We’re going to be kicking off a tour and stopping at some radio stations”. Make sure to pick up Falling In Love today so when Nestor gets to Minnesota you’ll be able to sing along to all the songs. Nestor also mentioned he has a special note to fans on the inside of the album that you definitely don’t want to miss! I had so much fun talking with Nestor, he even sang me “Happy Birthday” since I turned the big 2-5 on the day we chatted. We wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his passion for music! Grab the album on iTunes now and let Nestor know your thoughts in the comments.  Check out his website for tour updates, and give him a follow on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @NestorAnDressTX.
