Recently we shared a new video from Benton Blount. It’s a very simple, real, and honest new song he just wrote titled “Your First Lullaby” for his five month old son.
With your help sharing our last post about the video, and the support from his many fans, the video is near and possibly already passed 40,000 views!
With people taking such a liking to the song, we thought we’d reach out to Benton for a quick interview which he gladly accepted.
The first thing we had to ask Benton was how it feels to have his new video have near or already passed 40,000 views. Benton stated, “The fact that it was simply me singing to my son and just happened to turn into a song that parents can relate to means the world to me! I’m all about the party, but I’ve always wanted my music to mean something more to people!”
We then asked Benton if he planned on recording the song and making it available for purchase since it’s gained such a great response in such a little time. He said, “I had not planned on even writing the song a week ago and now I’m trying to figure out how to get into the studio as fast as possible to record it! I’m using a fundraising app called CrowdTilt. It’s basically for people to Pre-Order the song for $1. A lot of people have contributed $25 or more but I’m just as happy with the ones who buy the song in advance for $1!”

Jokingly, we asked Benton if his wife sings the song to five month old Jaxon too, or if that was his honor. He said, “I haven’t heard her sing it to him yet but she actually helped me with several of the ideas on the song so she gets her first co-writing credits!”
We wanted to know when or if Benton plans on hitting the road, and hopefully coming to Minnesota sometime soon as well! Excitedly he said, ” I do! I have recently signed an exclusive deal with Bobby Roberts Company for bookings and appearances!
