Without Maiden Dixie knowing, we got in touch with the very talented Jeff Dayton who worked with Maiden Dixie on their new album set to debut this Thursday at their CD release party.  See what Jeff had to say below.

Jeff Dayton is a songwriter, producer, and guitarist who was born and raised in Minnesota.  Jeff also tours as a recording artist as well, so keep an eye out for a show of his own near you soon!

Since moving to Nashville, he has worked with some of the best in the business.  He’s been in the bands of Kenny Chesney, Lee Greenwood, Tammy Cochran, and even spent fifteen years as a band leader for the great Glen Campbell.  Some of the songs he’s written have been recorded by George Strait, Doug Stone, Sarah Darling, Minnesota group High Noon, and even the talented Shane Martin!  He’s even had the honor to have produced/worked on albums by Glen Campbell, Buck Owens, and more.

With all that experience under his belt, we see he certainly knows the business, and his talent shines through with the many accomplishments listed above.

We asked Jeff a little about how he connected with Maiden Dixie, and how he played a part in their new album which is set to be debuted at their CD release party this Thursday night at The Pourhouse in Minneapolis, MN.

Jeff said,”I found Maiden Dixie on Facebook last winter somehow, an believe it was Jesse who first contacted me. Growing up in Minnesota myself, I was happy to find out they were from there as well.”

“Sometime after speaking with Jesse, it was Jon and Channing who I finally contacted, and asked to write together” said Jeff.

“During their trip to Nashville in January, we really hit it off well.  We got a great start on the song “The Waiting’s Done”, and actually finished it up while I was on tour in Minnesota this past February. The song quickly became a duet after they told me that there were multiple singers in the band, and I said they should consider a Male/Female duet. They loved the idea, and off we went” said Jeff.

“Everyone has that someone they know, and feel a spark with, that they’ve never gotten to turn into a fire, and that was one way we approached it. The other was a couple who has been so busy they haven’t made time for each other, and the third is an old flame who has come back around. No matter which way you take it, it works” says Jeff about the new song “The Waiting’s Done”

Jeff was also very quick to complement them as he said, “I’m completely knocked out by their recording. The vocals are as excellent as anything on radio and Channing and Jesse nailed the harmonies dead-on. I can’t wait to see what it will bring the band and the fans they will win at radio.”

Jeff is actually in town for the big party this Thursday!  You can see him there, as well as a bunch of us from MinnesotaCountry.com, and many more!  Tickets are only $12 and you can get them by clicking HERE.
