Darius Rucker Half

Former Hootie & the Blowfish frontman turned country star Darius Rucker will take the Mystic Showroom stage at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel Friday, September 20, at 8 p.m.

Since re-introducing himself to the world as a country artist, Rucker has had a truly remarkable few years. In 2008, he released Learn to Live and the album’s first single, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” made him the first African-American with a No. 1 country song since Charley Pride in 1983. That first hit was followed by two more chart-topping singles: “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” and “Alright,” earning him the New Artist award from the Country Music Association®.

Rucker’s 2010 follow-up, Charleston, SC 1966, included two more No. 1 country hits, “Come Back Song” and “This.” He was recently nominated for the Country Music Association’s Musical Event of the Year award for his performance of “Stuck On You” with Lionel Richie. In October 2012, Rucker was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry®, fulfilling a childhood dream. His latest album True Believers was released to critical acclaim in May 2013 and has already been certified Platinum. True Believers includes the No. 1 hit single “Wagon Wheel.” For more information, visit dariusrucker.com.
