Levi Pelzer is a singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist known for his high energy live performances and his talents as a guitar player. His love for music along with his drive and determination is what has helped shape his music career.
At the age of 15 Levi picked up his first guitar and began teaching himself how to play by ear. He had been playing only 6 months when he was selected to be the lead guitarist of a local School of Rock program. The School of Rock band that he joined was entered into a Battle of the Bands competition where Levi’s talents helped the band take first place. “When I first stepped foot off that stage that night, I knew that’s what I wanted to do for the rest of my life” He says. “The very next day I started the band.”
Levi began searching for musicians that shared his passion for playing live and began booking shows. His vision was to manage the band as a business with him as the owner. It would be a clean, professional, high energy group of guys that played the biggest variety of music. Priding themselves on taking short breaks (if any) and playing more shows than any other band in the area.
From 2011-2014, Levi played over 350 shows as the lead guitarist and back up singer of a popular Minnesota cover band, singing lead on more than a quarter of the songs. In 2014 Levi started focusing on writing music and started playing acoustic shows, which featured him as the only lead singer and guitar player.
As Levi’s songs grew to be more and more popular at his live performances, Levi started thinking about making his first CD. He first contacted a successful producer from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and sent him some of his songs “He called me right away and said I had to record those songs down in Nashville,” He said. Not thinking anything of it, the very next day Levi woke up to a phone call from a producer in Nashville by the name of Jason Perri, who told Levi that he wanted to work with him.
In January of 2015 Levi went down to Nashville to record his first solo project, self titled Levi Pelzer. He released his first single, “I Can Love You With My Eyes Closed” on February 27, 2015, and a second single called, “No One Plays Waylon No More” to country radio and iTunes on May 26, 2015.
On June 26, 2015 Levi released the rest of the songs on a physical CD and plans to release the CD on iTunes later this year. The EP features songs written by both Levi Pelzer and professional songwriters that have written number one hits for artists such as Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, and Jake Owen. The album also features some of the best studio engineers and musicians that Nashville has to offer.
