The Canyon Cowboys featuring front man Clint Lecy Jr. are a Country-Rock band based out of Minnesota. With tight vocals, energetic stage presence, and proffessional attitudes. They have been packing venues for 5 years all over the northern midwest.
This cover band also features some originals written by Clint Lecy Jr. himself including fan favorite, “This Old Cowboys Been Thrown.” Dirt road crusin’, real chickin’ pickin’, honky tonk country and country rock; throw in a bit of the blues, some classic rock, a bit of the 50’s . . . Canyon Cowboy’s has something for all to keep the dance floor packed.
Clint Jr. began singing and playing guitar when he could hold one. His dad, Clint Lecy Sr., has been a musician his whole life and so he followed in his foot steps. His debut was when he performed “Labamba”, for a talent show at the age of 12, and won. While growing up Clint didn’t always wanted to play country music. When Clint was 15 he had a Rock band called “Spare Parts”. It wasn’t until he was 18 that he wanted to play country music with “Kolt 45”, his dad’s Country Band. It wasn’t long before Clint fell in love with the heart and soul of Country Music.
His inspirations are: Brett Mason, Alberet Lee, and Jason Aldean to name a few. Clint has shared a stage with: Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn, Keith Anderson, Trace Adkins, John Anderson, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Merle Haggard, Sawyer Brown, Don Williams, Aaron Tippin, Jo Dee Messina and more.
Today Clint Jr. is considered one of the Best Guitar Pickers in Minnesota! Not to mention his vocals are unlike anyone else, you will have to hear them for yourself. Matt Rymann rocks it out on the drums he can play anything, and he is very talented. He has played with Martina McBride and other Big Country acts. Al Pettis is one of the Twin Cities Best Bass Players. He has played with Big Walter Smith, The Deep Fried Tweeters, Fire House, The Patrick Allen Band and many more. Clint Lecy Sr. is our Steel Guitar player and vocals who has been a musician for many years, you may know him from his band Kolt that was made popular in the 80’s-90’s. He has also opened up for and played with many Big Country Acts.
